My Purpose for Running:

I have several reasons for seeking this office. First, in general, I am greatly concerned about the lack of regard for actual public service that is manifested by so many in political offices today. Too often elected officials at all levels treat their respective positions as opportunities to serve their own concerns (both partisan and personal) at the public expense, rather than give actual public service to the citizens they claim to represent. During every campaign season hordes of career politicians feign empathy for potential voters' and donors' concerns. However, shortly after Election Day, if elected or re-elected, many of these same politicians take on an attitude of superiority and treat constituents like underlings, meddlers, or fools. Sad to say, regardless of rhetoric, many in the Texas Legislature are far more representative of this ill than they are of the legal voters of Texas. The situation in State District 130 is not uncharacteristic. I want to help return the "service" to public service by working for my constituents - and all Texans - in the Texas House of Representatives. (Check this link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b-uorcf6Uzs.)

This brings me to my second reason: true representation. It seems to me that in order to be an actual representative of others, one must hold certain essential interests in common with them. That is, the person who would represent others should be, in relevant ways, like those he would represent. This consists of more than just having an address in the area or making perfunctory visits to local hang-outs once in a while. I will maintain my center of concern here in our district, not in Austin, because my heart is here. Also, I have maintained a steady presence in this community by working extra jobs - as so many of us have to do because of the economic woes caused by the current political establishment. If you get to know me, you will know I am just a regular guy – one of the people – one of you. This is another reason why I believe I can represent District 130 better than the other contenders.

It should be pointed out, the Democrat and Republican Party hierarchies, and their steady stream of "in the box" politicians (including the incumbent), have proven beyond all reasonable doubt that, in truth, they are incapable of and, largely, uninterested in, substantive positive change. These facts are clear, in spite of the efforts of the 'usual suspects', who dominate the various media organizations, as well as many others, who offer endorsements in order to gain future access. (As a former Marine Corps Sergeant, when I observe 'run-of-the-mill' politicians [and their apologists] blathering about their "leadership", "courage", etc., I am tempted to laugh out loud.) Also, the Republican standard-bearers, notwithstanding their hollow proclamations to the contrary, have proven that they are not, by any sound, cogent standard, conservative/constitutionlists. (By the way, how could any knowledgeable, sensible Texan/American patriot vote for the Trans-Texas Corridor like the incumbent did?)  Further, simply, replacing the current crop of incumbents with newer editions from the same essential source - the source of our present political malaise - will do little good and will, certainly, continue to push our state and our nation in the same general, destructive direction. (After all, if any Republican or Democratic candidate, really, gets too far “off the reservation” with regard to his party’s leadership, and, yet, does not leave the party, he will be marginalized. Consider the Republican leadership’s “second class citizen” treatment of Tom Tancredo, Duncan Hunter, and Ron Paul.)

This brings me to my third reason to run for this office. The U.S. Constitution, the Texas Constitution, the rule of law, and our Judeo-Christian heritage have been regularly ignored, even assaulted, by the current "two-party" establishment. I, on the other hand, hold these blessings as precious, and I intend to defend them as God prospers me to do so. I hope to do so in the Texas House of Representatives. With God's blessing and your help, I will.

My Principles:

  1. Our Judeo-Christian heritage, based as is the case, on the Bible
  2. Our Founding Documents and Traditions (both American and Texan)

My Main Issues (at the state level):

Free use of one’s private property
Repeal the property and business taxes
Eliminate government corruption, abuse, and waste
Shrink the size, scope, cost, and power the government
Home rule
Secure our border, coast, and interior
Export illegal immigrants, not businesses and jobs
Enforce all our laws consistently
Defeat all globalist attacks (including the NAU, NAFTA, the TTC, etc.)
Stop election/voter fraud

Let's sow FRESH SEEDS for our success...together...
Vote for Clell to be our representative in Austin!

May God's best be given to you.

For Life, Liberty, and Limited Government,

Clell M. Drumheller, II
